Re: Quiet exhaust ?????
Well I've been driving it the way it is for now. :) I'm still thinking big block, so I haven't done anything with the exhaust. Been more of a budget thing. Since I work in the automotive engineering business, I've been keeping the purse strings pretty tight just in case.
I realize I can't make it whisper quiet, but I was hoping someone had gone through the exercise and came up with a solution, fabbed on ATV muffler, or little rice burner muffler that did the job. If I end up with something I will post it up!! |

Re: Quiet exhaust ?????
I'm not an expert by any means, but it seems at the campground that those older motors run a lot louder than the newer ones. across the board if i look at a louder club car down there the muffler is behind the axle.
one guy i know even put a new muffler on his and it still seems to be on the loud side. I hope that at least makes ya feel a bit better? -Aaron |

Re: Quiet exhaust ?????
I know a guy who wanted quieter exhaust on his quad for hunting. Instead of buying the silencer muffler they advertised on TV he found a large exhaust muffler off of a riding lawnmower. He fit it to his exhaust and then welded a small extension on the exit side of the muffler pointing straight down which threw the sound to the ground. It made a HUGE difference. The only time you could hear him is when he was going away from you and you were nearby. Plus it did not affect his horsepower. It may just be a budget fix for you if you can find a junked riding mower with the right muffler.

Re: Quiet exhaust ?????
Well I just got a muffler from a from a katana 600 off of ebay for $20. I figure it's worth a try. It will fit right where the old muffler resides. If it doesn't work, I'm not out too much $$$$
