Need More Hill Climbing Ability
I just re-built the top end of my 91 4 stroke 295cc. It runs great and will go 30+ on road. But it doesn't seem to want to climb hills very good. It has a new clutch and everything else checks out. The only thing I am not sure about is how much climbing power the big tires are costing me. It has 22 x 11 now and I am considering going back to OEM size tires. Will that help?

Re: Need More Hill Climbing Ability
Hey Texas..... I found use one or the other but both together were about impossible to shift without rocking the cart Get the driven clutch machined by CPP for a lower gear than you ever had stock That will climb poles

Re: Need More Hill Climbing Ability
I'd try the shorter yamaha belt on it, it'll climb well enough to flip the cart over backwards. I doubt you'll need any more than that.

Re: Need More Hill Climbing Ability
Which Yamaha belt?... they use a 41-1/8 and a 39 ... 39 being too short to even get it on the pulley ...why not stay with the ezgo 41" (2stroke belt) just curious ....

Re: Need More Hill Climbing Ability
I have the 28 degree clutch and the shorter belt. With the way and places I ride, I would not be able to get back out without them. Shifting was tight at first but it is OK now!

Re: Need More Hill Climbing Ability
nobody else questioning the 30mph on the road??? Maybe he has a set of high speed gears in the rear end causing the lack of climbing power?

Re: Need More Hill Climbing Ability
I believe this is a case of y'all not knowing about the 91 carts. first, 91 had no rev limiter, I could see 30 mph out of it with out much effort. second, use the 39" yamaha belt, scotty, I wish you would finally realize I know what i'm talking about with these carts. they have different models which need different things, you seem to think every ezgo cart is a txt/workhorse
