Re: Cutting TXT Body
Depends on how deep your pockets are. Originally my cart had a 5 inch drop axle and then I switched to a Jakes longtravel. The difference is night and day, but so is the price. The other type of lift is a drop spindle, but I've never been a fan of that type. A lot depends on how you'll use your cart too. If you just want the lifted look for road or golfcourse use the spindle will be fine. For offroad go with a drop axle or longtravel.

Re: Cutting TXT Body
I used a jigsaw on my 98 Txt and it worked great!
As far as lift kits there are several out their to choose from! You can go with a simple block style lift all the way up to an indepedent A arm supension with an adjustable lift. Jake's lift kits are the most popular! I used Jake's 5" drop axle kit and have loved it!! Good luck with the lights and lift!! Lots of help on this sight!! |

Re: Cutting TXT Body
Then a drop axle will do just fine. I never had any problems out of mine and I beat mine like a rented mule. The longtravel allows more lift and a much more comfortable ride.

Re: Cutting TXT Body
I went with a Jake's 6" spindle lift which accomodates their disc brakes. Haven't finished the cart yet, but it is of high quality and easy to install.
I'm cutting for lights too. Did the front body recently - once all marked with the templates, drilled a hole in the middle of the cutout area for an entry for the jig saw blade - rough cut within about 1/8 inch of your lines with that and fine finish with a Dremel, checking the fit of each light very often. Came out perfect. I can't suggest strongly enough to make sure the templates are on right, lined up side to side, etc. I stared at it for what seemed like an hour to make sure it was right before cutting. You only get one shot. |
