2003 DS Silver STD IQ cart having charging issues...
The controller has been changed out and luckily enough they labeled it with the serial number that begins with AQ; the cart however begins with 7F. The cart DOES run but does NOT charge...would the newer IQ controller cause a conflict and not allow it to charge? I’ve already done an OBC bypass with no luck with either a PD2 or PD3 charger but I’m still leaning toward that (OBC) being the culprit. Any help would be appreciated

Re: 2003 DS Silver STD IQ cart having charging issues...
The controller does not prevent the Powerdrive from operating, but there is a fuse behind the charge receptacle that can....
If you check that fuse and it is good, then please verify the red 10g wire from the charge receptacle is connected to the Pack Main Positive. If both the above are good, please describe to me what/how you bypassed the OBC. And do not fret, we will get you going.... |

From this link the 7F indicates a factory re-manufactured
2003 Silver DS IQ. https://golf-car-ranch.myshopify.com...number-look-up What is the controller number you have? If the OBC is bypassed it can can be removed from the cart. I don't think the OBC is the problem if bypassed correctly. I have not done one but many here have. Is the fuse in the back of the charge port good? |

I didn’t closely check the fuse; I will do that tomorrow. I took the negative wire from the charger port and cut it and put a ring terminal on it and connected it to main B-

Re: 2003 DS Silver STD IQ cart having charging issues...
Just make sure, the end you installed the ring terminal on "was" the end that would have ran to the OBC, correct? (Yup, seen it happen) And you also have to run the grey sense wire that is currently running from the charge receptacle to the OBC and run it to the main pack negative or B- at the controller. If you want to completely remove the OBC, you also have to take the white wire and the blue wire that is on the harness side of the 6-pin connector and butt splice them together or install a jumper between them.

Yeah I did the right wire...that one that would have ran back to the OBC but I didn’t do the gray sense wire so I’ll do that after I check the fuse and I’ll let you guys know how it goes. Thanks!
