If you have more than an inch your throttle linkage is most likely worn and needs replacement or repair. Look at your accelerator pedal on your floorboard from the top view inside your cart not underneath. You can view this from below as well just trying to direct you to the exact spot for clarity. You will see a small hole where the pedal sticks through. If you look closely you will see a round round that rest against the pedal and is moved or rotated when you mash the pedal down. It is that round rod and the spot on the pedal that it rest against where the metal wears and creates slop in your linkage. There are other places also in the linkage that create slop but try this first. Remove your MCOR (2 screws). Remove the slotted rod that goes into your MCOR. It falls out when your remove your MCOR. This rod has a forke on one end. One of the forks is the round part you were looking at from above at your pedal. Place a piece of fuel hose over the round rod on the end where it touches the pedal. Reinstall the rod and your MCOR. Takes about 5 minutes. The fuel hose acts as a shim for the worn metal. It does not take much wear to make a difference here. This fix will enable the round slotted rod to rotate a greater amount inside your MCOR allowing you to attain your full throttle position. Hope this helps
You nailed it!

Noseriders explanation is for an MCOR. Not sure why the pot was pictured.

@ Noserider:

That is what I found also . . I have about 1/16th to 1/8th inch of clearance between pedal and MCOR "fork" for forward pedal movement . . I considered adding some tubing also, but wanted to see if you found a different way of removing the slop there . . . I temporarily "lovingly" jammed a washer into that space and now cart runs properly . . will develop a more permanent fix at a later time . . . thanks for your input . .

The one thing I noticed now that car seems to have full throttle ability is the amount of torque I gained . . even up hill . . have to GPS it once campground empties out from the weekend . . will pick up tubing from home today (when I go to cut the grass) to replace my "quick fix" . .

this same fix worked for me as well.

the amount my cart has changed is remarkable from this 1/32" fix.

nearly doubled my top speed.
accelerates uphill on a big incline.
goes so fast i cant even read my gps.

Hey guys,

My pedal moves 2 3/4" before it clicks, DS 03 48 Volt series cart, I put zip ties on the stud a year ago, maybe I need to re look at everything again. Is the 2 3/4" movement normal before the click?
