Default 6 8's or 4 12's

Have visited several dealers recently and they all seem to have plenty of 12's but very very few 8's. I am leaning towards the 8's but am not sure at this point. What are the basic differences/advantages of one over the other? I'm close to buying my first car. THANKS!!

go with the 8,s theres a reason everyone has 12,s laying around thats because even all the dealers went back to 8,s ...............more years service out of them ( if maintained ) and longer runtime...............only drawback is money spent but if you treat them right they should and could last as long or longer than 2 sets of 12,s...................................

Hold off and find a cart with the 8s. Mine has the 12s and they are fine, but I wish I was able to find a good deal on a cart with the 8s. I'm pretty sure the 2008.5 Precedent is configured for 12s or 8s. If you find a deal on one of those, eventhough it probably has 12s in it, buy it! You can put 8s in it later.

Also, if you get a killer deal on an older Precedent, you can upgrade to 6 8v batts by getting a kit for around $400. Something to consider...

Also #2, My '07 Precedent got 4 years of service from the OEM Trojan batts, so I just put 4 new ones in, as I didn't want to spend the $$ on the kit.

I have ran the 12's in both of my carts (past and current) and had no issues with them including longevity. I use US Batteries and provide proper maintenance.

we all have different opinons correct and he asked i answered......keep in mind that not everyone maintains their batteries the same.................so i stand by running 8,s over 12,s ..........one thing the 12,s will never do is give you the run time 8,s will and thats a big deal for some people..............maybe not for someone who just uses it around the house or to grab the mail .............................

Stupid question, benefits & cost to run 6 12's=72 volt?

I have not researched this.
