i don,t know i,m curios as to what color the controller they took out was? have you called them and told them about this problem? what did they say?........i don,t like reagan carts at all even though i own 2 of them but the one thing i do know is they are on the fast side vs a standard cart......but when it comes to working on them things can go wrong fast.................................

I spoke to another Club Car dealer here at home who was very nice and as helpfull as anyone could be. The service tech said it is probably a bad speed sensor in the motor. This part is currently discontinued and the solution Club Car has is to install a new motor. He advised me to find a used part somewhere and try it to see if it would work. He said it is a guessing game with these carts and this is the way he would figure it out if it were in his shop. Next step would be a different controller. Although he did say it was the correct controller in the cart now.

So...does anyone have a speed sensor laying around? LOL.

cool, thanks. I also read a post hear about a sensor I could buy and make my own speed sensor, allegro sensor from digi key. could this work for my cart or is this for newer carts only. The one I read was about a 2006 but the picture he posted looks just like the little sensor in my cart.

Hey Shadowman. You said you have a couple of these carts. I notice mine has two solenoids. One is a 48volt #586 heavy duty, but the other just says 18 volt. Is this correct? I thought they were only to have one solenoid? No other numbers legible on the 18volt solenoid.

The regens should have 2 solenoids. Go to the Curtis web site and look for a manual on the1204/5 controller. Even if you have something different, it will show the wiring and explain the operation.
