How do I get a 1996 Club Car Electric keep up with the gassers
I have a 1996 Electric Club Car that does maybe 20 MPH tops. I had a gas 1998 Yamaha that did 29 MPH. How can I get my electric up to speed approaching the gassers. I am guessing a new or rewired motor plus a new controller from what I have been reading. Is there some magic combination I could go for my 1996?

A 96 CC is a series drive cart. If you want it to approach 30mph you are going to have to make some serious upgrades..... what type of terrain and driving do you do?

Mostly flat golf course and street travel.

Increase torque and go with high speed gears or a high speed motor.... or both

Someone earlier showed my car with a jet engine. Funny.

I think I already have high speed gears (20 mph?) but want to go faster. I do have wheels and tires that are bigger but don't beleive this will get anywhere near 30 MPH

I understand you completely. I have a friend with an ezgo gasser, but I can beat him His does about 20 mph. I would hate to race a fixed up one, though.
