Re: 2001 Club Car DS Hunting Buggy Build
Two of the wires are positives and the ground is a negative. Use whichever positive you need to use for what you're trying to accomplish and use the negative as you normally would.

If I splice the red/other color wire together as my positive, will the headlight and side market light both light up?

Re: 2001 Club Car DS Hunting Buggy Build
The other thing I'm thinking is I may just use it as is and zip tie all the other connections up and out of the way. However, I don't want to use the push/pull switch that it has built in.
So I figured I could take the + and - that is supposed to go to the battery/voltage reducer, run those to my buss bar (for the - ) and to my switch (for the +) (it has power from the fuse box). Take the wires that go to the push/pull switch and splice them together, thereby eliminating the push/pull switch and have the power go through my rocker switch to control the on/off of the lights. Would that work? |

Re: 2001 Club Car DS Hunting Buggy Build
Well option #3 wins. I went ahead and purchased the RHOX kit that adds the blinkers, hi/lo beams, horn, brake switch, flashers, etc...
I figured since I had the harness and these items were just plug and play, why not. Plus I'll feel a little more comfortable while driving on the road for the short periods that I do. Thanks to Dave @ Revolution Golf Cars |

Re: 2001 Club Car DS Hunting Buggy Build
Yes sir! Gotta do some wiring tomorrow. Glad I went ahead and got the kit from you.
One question though, it shouldn't be a problem running the 12v negative of the wiring harness to my buss bar and the 12v positive from the wiring harness to my rocker switch right? I have the fuse box going to the rocker switch and was gonna run the 12v positive from the rock switch into the wiring harness itself so that the rocker switch would still control my head lights/tail lights. |

Re: 2001 Club Car DS Hunting Buggy Build
Only got a few things done this weekend.
First I got my turn signal, brake switch, and horn installed. Then I ran the new wiring harness to each and got them plugged in. Had to remove most of the screws from the new dash in order to get the turn signal plug ran down behind the dash. Once everything was hooked up, used the old wire loom to cover/protect all the new wires that I ran from the battery compartment up to the dash. Next, put the new seat covers on. Not too hard to do. I think they turned out pretty good. Now at least they will match my rear seat (when I get it installed). Just for fun, plugged in the new LED head lights/tail lights to test them out. Everything works as it should. So glad I decided to invest the little bit of time and get the horn, blinkers, etc... working. Even have Hi/Lo beam headlights now! Just waiting on the body to be done. I keep getting excuses from this guy, so I'm not hopeful it will be ready this weekend. Regardless, I'm going to pick it up. He has had it over a month when he initially said it would take about a week. Oh well.... |
