Default 1986 EZGO Marathon Gas Brake Adjustment Help

The brakes on my 1986 EZGO Marathon gas needs adjusting and I am not sure how. I looked under the cart where the rod connects to the two (2) cables that goes to the rear brakes and it is adjusted almost all the way in. It has new brake pads on it and I am just not sure where else to look. When you press the brake is goes all the way to floor with no resistance and even after you apply the parking brake you can still turn the wheel....Anyone have any ideas how I can adjust this or is there a "how to" manual for it around?
Once again thanks for your help.

When you installed the new shoes, did you adjust it to where the drum has a slight drag to it? I believe it should also have self adjusters on it and you should hear a clicking sound when you push down on the pedal until they are adjusted correctly. I had the same problem with my 88 but was able to adjust the slack out at the rod you mentioned. You also may need to replace your cables if they are stretched too far for adjustment.
