Re: welded spider gears
One word...DON'T after many hours of discussions around a camp fire a few friends opted to do it..WELD THE SPIDERS..well a year later and more than a few$$$ they have all replaced various broken parts and returned their Diffs back to factory OR sprang with the $$ to install a traction control device..

Re: welded spider gears
If you've ever had a vehicle with a lincoln locker then you know the downsides as well as the upsides. Mine is welded, yea tight turning sometimes sucks but I know why I welded my rearend and I'm happy with it. If you do weld it be smart don't try doing donuts on the pavement and weld all 8 corners and you'll be fine.

Re: welded spider gears
I have beat the crap out of my welded rear end. 28" tires and a big block and havn't broken anything yet. Knock on wood Great off road but its worthless on the street after that

Re: welded spider gears
That pretty much says it all. You'll have to ride on dirt or mud to give the inside tire something to slip on while making turns, then sometime, it will give you some trouble even on tight turns with little momentum.
