Default Latest Lift for lockmans Lynx II

Out with the new, and... In with the new!

IMG_3154.JPG

Preemptive info...
07 Club Car Lynx (DS) gasser, with a factory 4" Z lift,
I had a Jake's 3" spindle lift on top of the Z lift for close to 6 years until I bumped a boulder, and bent a spindle.
Last year I installed a Madjax 3-1/2" A-Arm lift, and lets just say... I had some difficulties!

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/lifte...mans-lynx.html

With a Z lift, and 25" tires, I have minimal options with lift kits...
I had 3 more choices, a Jake's 4" A-Arm, an All Sports 4" A-Arm, or an AS 4" Super Sport lift...
I went with the AS Super Sport, because I was able to "special order" it through Cart Parts Plus without the rear lift!
(because, well?... I already have an AS Super Sport rear lift on it!)

Unfortunately, I have a concern about the Super Sport lift,
It uses milled aluminum bushings on all 4 of the the heim joints,
(I call them "hat caps"... I don't know their real name! )
My buddies 7.5 SS lift wore out the lower drivers side "hat cap" 3 times already...
and I've read that others have had the same problem!

(left-worn, right-new)

If this lift gives me "near future" problems... I'll try a Jake's 4" A-Arm lift.

With all of that said? first things first... remove the top leaf spring, and install it today!

Ok if you have those concerns and a buddy with it and issues why not box it up and return it(before you installed it of course)? Your a serial lifter!!! Haha

Or is testing and installing most every lift on the market a hobby for you?

I was hoping that All Sports changed the design from 7 years ago since we installed the 7.5 on his cart.

I have no problem installing and testing lift kits on my cart...
I've been getting them from CPP for a reasonable price, Soooo... Why not?

Are they cutting you a deal to test them or something?

No... I've been buying stuff from CPP for quite some time,
I don't get "SUPER SPECIAL" deals, but, they know... when I call?... I order!!!
It seems that they almost "bend over backwards" to fulfill my requests!
(their customer service is outstanding!)

Well... No difficulties with the off and on... except a 3 hour "intermission",

It was a quick 45 minute removal of the Madjax lift...
Then my buddy that I go to concerts with, stops over with his freshly resto'd 55 Belair,

IMG_3156.JPG

We took a 15 minute ride, (I was honored to be the 3rd rider) then we had a few beers!
3 hours later I got back to the cart...

It was just an hour for the install, but, I'm missing (2) lift-to-frame bolts that weren't included...
It's a "roller", but I'll have to take some stuff apart to add the 2 bolts when I get them tomorrow,
Then comes the alignment...

All finished... most everything went without a hitch!

The (2) lift-to-frames bolts needed to be 3/8 x 4-1/4"
of course, I had a choice of 4"... 4-1/2"... and 5" at the DIY store...
I had some 4-1/2" at home (that I bought for the Madjax lift), ...used those, and cut them off with my trusty Milwaukee Sawzall!

If anyone read my previous thread/battle with my Tie Rod being too long...
Well, I don't know IF... All Sports has it right, or I that I remembered what Tom (BigBlockMan) told me,
BUT... I should have NEVER cut and tapped my Tie Rod in the first place!

Had I NOT followed the directions with the Madjax kit, (bottom Heim Joints all of the way IN to start)
and IF... I were to just turn the bottom Heims OUT 4 full turns... all would have been good!

Now... I have "a bit" of extra threads on my Tie Rod ends (Ball Joints)
I'm not worried... they still have enough of "meat" to hold on!

018 (2).JPG

And IF... those ridiculously designed aluminum "hat caps" break?
I think I can figure out an easy fix!

013 (3).JPG

Because... I'm pretty sure... NO WAIT!... I'm VERY sure that I don't want to replace another lift!
AND... I'd prefer to NOT have to start another thread... "Latest Lift for Lockmans Lynx III"!

I'm out... thanks for reading!

I have found that you need to buy bolts at Tractor Supple Co. There way cheaper that home depot or lowes cause you buy them buy the pound and they know bolts are not gold. They have a price for grade 3,5,8 . But you still probably would have thst same problem without a choice cause I have that problem when I am looking for bolts.

Yeah... the closest Tractor Supply is a 30 mile drive, I have Fleet Farm (very similar) close by,
I wanted to use zinc bolts, (rather than hardened) to minimize rusting!
It just so happened that I had the 3 different sizes already,
I was just being lazy and didn't want to cut them off!
