Removable or foldable rear foot rest ideas

You can see my dilemma in the picture. When i load my cart on my trailer, it is right at the edge of it. I dont think a normal rear seat kit would hang over too much, but i really dont want it too at all. I am pretty handy with a welder so i can fab one up, just looking for any ideas or past builds.
I have also looked into the ones that fold up, but they are like 500 bucks.

Pretty simple build on mine. A couple hinges and some aluminum bar stock. It has held up very well even with two adults on it.
